PEACE’s at Edison

Who can become a PEACE?
A PEACE is selected by the classroom teacher because they follow Edison Character traits.
They are Community Minded and care about their environment.
They are Aware of others around them.
They are Responsible both in the classroom and the playground.
They are Respectful of themselves and others around them.
They are Empathetic toward others.
They are Safe both inside the classroom and outside in the playground.

What are the Responsibilites of a PEACE?
PEACE’s meet every Monday morning for a breakfast club where they discuss issues in the
playground and activities for the coming week.
PEACE’s work on a roster to coordinate games and activities in the playground during recess.
PEACE’s manage the activites used on the playground and are responsible to take items out of the
building and to return the items at the end of recess.
All items need to be cleaned and organized before they are put away.
As PEACE’s become AWARE of problems on the playground such as unfair play or bullying,
they must report the situation to a playground supervisor immediatly.
PEACE’s must invite all students to participate in games and activites.

Fun things a PEACE can do
PEACE’s are a select group of students at Edison Elementary that are ambasadors of the school.
PEACE’s might assist when Edison has an open house by giving tours of the Edison school.
PEACE’s can help out in the lunchroom during the Edison Thanksgiving Feast.
PEACE’s celebrate together their achievements through get togethers and parties.
